God’s Kitchen – Leader: Ed Lockhart
God’s Kitchen provides a hot nutritious meal in the Fellowship Hall each Sunday to the low income and homeless of our community. Our crews start setting up and cooking directly after the Worship service and begin serving the meal at 2:30 PM. Our mission is to provide this meal in a safe environment, to provide a listening ear and to build relationships which can provide the path to Jesus. Join us as we work out Matthew 25:35, “For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in”.
Clothes Closet – Leader: Hitomi Leistner
The Clothes Closet is open every Sunday, except the 5th Sunday of the month, from 1:30-3:30pm. We provide clothing to the homeless and anyone in need in our community. Our goal is to show Christ’s love to each person, treat all with respect and dignity, pray for individual needs when shared with volunteer staff, encourage each person to seek God’s Word by providing New Testaments, and extend invitations to attend FBC. Anyone wishing to join our volunteer staff, please contact the church office.
Celebrate Recovery – Leader: Karen Mendenhall
We meet every Tuesday, 7-9 pm in the 300 building – join us!
The purpose of celebrate recovery is to fellowship and celebrate God’s healing power in our lives through the 12 steps and 8 recovery principles based on the Beatitudes (found in Matthew 5).
As this experience allows life change, we share our strengths, experiences, and hopes with each other and become willing to accept God’s grace in solving our lives’ problems. We become free from our hurts, habits and hang-ups and have stronger personal relationships with God and others. This amazing spiritual adventure creates peace, joy, serenity in a safe, confidential setting.
